Preparing for Cincinnati

Although presently I am surrounded by boxes as I prepare to move this weekend, I am also getting ready to head to the Cincinnati area for an exhibition. The show"INSTALLATIONS AND PERFORMANCES" will be held at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center.  The center housed in an old Carnegie Library built in 1904 seems to have an amazing exhibition and programming schedule.

This exhibition is asking artists to create installations and/or performances for the Carnegie's spaces. My installation titled Syncope has recently been completed and I am exicited about it. I am posting am image and for the next post will talk about the peice more in depth and discuss what Syncope even means - so stay tuned!

Preparation - Oakland here I come!

Pro Arts, a non-profit art space in Oakland, CA selected me a while back to exhibit in their project gallery.  In their words, they are the area primary visual arts venue, so I am very excited about this opportunity to exhibit some of my work with them. In speaking with their gallery director, Erica Mohler, the opening should be a grand event! I am posting one image of the work I will be showing there - more to come soon!
Also on the horizon a workshop in the Santa Cruz area!

In the Studio

I was back in the studio this week largely developing ideas for a few upcoming shows and installations. As always, the development of something takes time and effort and then the best idea comes when you least expect it - but more on that in later posts. I did make a few new pieces and thought I would post a few here. This is a continuation of the Shades series that I have been working on.
